- Current work includes a series of historical naval novels written under the name Seth Hunter and featuring Nathan Peake. The first three - The Time of Terror, The Tide of War and The Price of Glory - have been published by Headline and the next - The Winds of Folly - comes out in July, 2011. Previous novels under my own name include The Used Women’s Book Club, Prayer of the Bone, In a Pig’s Ear and Coming First, all published by Bloomsbury in the UK. Hollow Target won an arts council award for Best First Novel and In a Pig’s Ear was named as one of The Guardian’s six Best Novels of the Year. My first novel for children. Kobal, was published by Hodder in 2008 and long-listed for the Waterstone’s Book of the Year Award. It was followed by Avatar in 2009 and Abyss in 2010.
